Nigerian table tennis icon, Aruna Quadri has secured his second consecutive title in the men’s singles of the 2023 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) African Championship.

In a dominant performance, Aruna defeated Egypt’s Ahmed Saleh in four straight sets.

The 35 year-old’s victory marks his second ITTF crown and unlike the previous year, where he had to overcome a two-set deficit against his rival Omar Assar, this year proved to be a more straightforward contest.

He began the match by taking the first set with an emphatic 11-2 score, followed by a hard-fought 12-10 win in the second set.

Saleh couldn’t recover and conceded the subsequent set with a score of 11-6.
