Arsenal to consider selling Mesut Ozil in January

Arsenal are open to the possibility of selling Mesut Ozil for £25m in the January transfer window, according to reports in the British media.

The Sun is reporting that the Gunners will consider selling Ozil in January and that Inter Milan are interested in signing the German playmaker.

Ozil has struggled for form and fitness in recent weeks and he has missed the Gunners’ last few games with a back injury.

According to the same story, Arsenal’s patience is “wearing thin” – and they are considering trying to get Ozil’s £350,000 a week wages off their books.

The same article claims that Ozil’s representatives will fly to Italy this week to try and broker a deal with Inter Milan.

Ozil has been struggling with a back injury in recent weeks and he missed Arsenal’s 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town at The Emirates on Saturday.

Indeed, the 30-year-old has only started 10 of Arsenal’s 16 Premier League games so far this season, scoring three goals and making one assist.

Arsenal will return to Premier League action next weekend when they take on Southampton away from home on Sunday afternoon.

The Gunners will then host Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup quarter-finals on 19 December at The Emirates.
