English Premier League outfit Arsenal have secured the signing of English born Nigerian youngster Tim Akinola ahead of next season.
Tim Akinola completed his switch to the Gunners on Monday shortly after the leaving championship side Huddersfield Town.
The 19-year-old midfielder is not expected to be in the first team but to continue his development with the youth team from next season.
The club was reportedly impressed after video analysis of the youngster’s tenacious midfield performances that they have taken the unusual step of signing him without a trial.
Akinola is the second player signed by them after the arrival of George Lewis, the 20-year-old Rwandan-Norwegian.
Akinola is born in England to Nigerian parents and he’s currently eligible to play for the Super Eagles in the nearest future.
