Tolu Arokodare helped KRC Genk secure a crucial 2-0 away win over rivals KAA Gent in the Belgian Pro League, on Sunday.
Arokodare opened the scoring just after halftime, netting in the 46th minute to silence the crowd at Ghelamco Arena.
This brings the Nigerian forward’s tally to eight goals and one assist in twelve league appearances this season.
He was substituted in the 75th minute, and Jarne Steuckers added a second goal from the penalty spot to put the game firmly in Genk’s control.
For Gent, Jordan Torunarigha played the full 90 minutes, but couldn’t change the outcome.
Genk’s victory keeps them at the top of the table, with 28 points from 12 matches.
