KRC Genk forward Tolu Arokodare has expressed frustration with the team’s recent result in the Belgian Championship Playoff game against Cercle Brugge.

Arokodare was on target for the Limburgers, however, that did not give KRC Genk the victory as Cercle fought back to get a late equalizer.

The forward couldn’t really hide his frustration during the post-match press conference, and went off as he analyzed the result.

“We deserved more than that one point,” he explained to Het Belang van Limburg. “If you concede a goal like that, it’s really painful and a shame.”

“Anyway, there’s no point in pointing the finger at anyone now. That’s football, those mistakes always happen.”

“Cercle is a very physical team, but I like that. Although they started making more and more mistakes during the second half, while the referee didn’t notice. Fortunately, he did that that one time.”

It was Arokodare’s second goal in the Play offs and tenth of the season for the Wouter Vrancken’s side.

“I don’t really set a goal for myself at the start of the season, but I always just try to do better than the year before. Ten goals are nice, but I hope I can do even better,” said the Nigerian.

Genk have picked seven points out of nine so far in the playoffs.
