Joe Aribo has declared his readiness for the new Premier League season and looks forward to helping Southampton excel.
Aribo moved from Glasgow Rangers to Southampton last month after a successful period in Scotland.
The Nigerian midfielder however announced himself to the Saints’ faithfuls when he scored a wonder goal in their final pre-season game against Villarreal last weekend.
“Yeah, I said to the boys inside, I don’t know where I pulled the right foot chop from. But yeah, I’m really happy with it,”
“Hopefully I can keep pushing on and do more for the team in games to come. I’ve always been a fighter. I’ve not had it all sweet because I’ve not been in academies.
“I’ve had to work and be out of my comfort zone. That’s where you’re at your best I think, when you’re not comfortable. I believe in myself.
“I wouldn’t have taken this challenge unless I thought I could showcase my talent, and that’s what I want to be able to do,” Aribo told BBC.
Aribo is expected to make his Premier League debut Southampton take Tottenham Hotspur this weekend.
