Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard says Nigerian midfielder Joe Aribo needs to rack up the numbers as the season progresses.
Aribo, a summer arrival from Charlton Athletic, has hit the ground running in the Scottish league and has added steel and solidity to the Gers’ midfield.
However, ahead of Friday’s night visit to Hibernian in a Scottish Premiership game, Gerrard revealed to the media that Aribo and his teammates must come up with their A-game.
“I think it is important we want focus on the three points that are available at Hibs tomorrow, it will be a tough game.”
The Gers boss also talked about Aribo’s recent form in the pre-match press conference.
“Scot Arfield has popped up, Ryan Jack has popped up and Joe Aribo has got a couple of goals.”
“He has moved up a line now, so we expect Joe to add some numbers to the team in that area,” he concluded.
The Super Eagles’ star has so far netted five goals and provided five assists in 29 appearances across all competitions.
