Midfielder Joe Aribo has expressed satisfaction with the Super Eagles’ defensive performance, despite facing criticism in the ongoing 34th Africa Cup of Nations.

The team secured two clean sheets and conceded only once in three group matches, showcasing their defensive prowess.

While the defensive unit has proven resilient, the Super Eagles have struggled to find the net at the other end.

In three group matches, they managed to score three goals, with just one coming from open play.

Aribo addressed the goal-scoring challenges, stating that the team can find solace in their impressive defensive record.

He added that shoring up the backline has been a positive response to the opening day draw against Equatorial Guinea.

“We’ll get better as the tournament progresses. We’ll find that form and find the back of the net, a lot more.

“One good thing about us is that we are keeping clean sheet and solid at the back,” Aribo stated.
