Argentina coach, Sergio Hernandez commended the Nigerian D’Tigers for pushing his side to the last in their second group B clash at the ongoing 2019 FIBA World Cup in China.
After the Argentines won the first quarter with 17-28 scoreline, the Nigerian side fought back in the second quarter to tie at the  score at 43 – 43, as the fifth ranked team in World struggled to stop Nigeria’s fast breaks in the third quarter.
The Argentines won the game 94 – 81 , but Sergio Hernandez believed the Nigerians gave his side a good run for their money.
He said: “Before the game, I knew that it will be tough and a definitive game to determine. Nigeria is a great team, strong and runs the floor. One of the best things that Argentina did was to stop the first break in the third quarter.”
The victory sealed Argentina’s passage into the next round , haven defeated Korea Republic in their opening game on Saturday.
