Anthony Okpotu Reveals his biggest Source of “Happiness” as an Eagle

Nigeria international Anthony Okpotu is pleased to have scored his first goal for the Super Eagles.

Okpotu opened the scoring as the Eagles overcame Ghana 2-0 in a Group A match at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Monday.

As a result, Nigeria advanced to the semi-finals where they defeated Group B winners, Benin 1-0.

On that occasion, the Lobi stars man grabbed an important assist as Rabiu Ali slotted home.

The highly-rated striker scooped the 2016/17 NPFL Golden Boot accolade after netting 19 goals in the top-flight league.

The NPFL official website spoke to the player, who stated that it was a great feeling scoring for the national team.

“It is a great feeling scoring in the national team jersey. I am happy to have finally opened my goals account for my country,” he said.

The marksman has found goalscoring difficult in the competition, but when he had his real chance he took it with class against Ghana.

Okpotu has only one goal to show for in the competition, but his ability to create space and chances for his teammates is a quality that must not be underestimated.

Anthony said that intends intend to make the nation proud at the West African tournament.

Nigeria will now take on tournament hosts, Ghana in the final at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday.
