Striker, Anthony Nwakaeme has revealed Hapoel Be’er Sheva listened to offers for his services from an unnamed Chinese club at the end of last season.
The 28-year-old Nigerian scored 18 goals for his club in all competitions last season and finished as the Ligat HA’al Most Valuable Player; helping Hapoel Be’er Sheva win a domestic double.
Anthony told brila.net that he got an offer away from the Israeli league to the far east, but the deal was blocked by his club after he spoke with the management.
‘They came, but after speaking with the club, my team would not allow me leave.
‘We spoke about my importance to the team and the seasons ahead, so I had to stay back and respect my contract,’ the forward explained.
