Le Sang et Or had lost back to back games going into the fixture, and their home form wasn't a conversation starter.

Another Late Goal Sinks Nantes… Even Moses Simon Couldn’t Save Canaries

Moses Simon scored one from the spot and provided assist for Nantes second goal, but his effort would prove insufficient to lift the side against RC Lens in Saturday’s Ligue One clash.

Coming off the back of a painful 2-1 defeat to Marseille last week, Nantes we’re hoping to snap their seven-game winless streak when they faced Lens.

Le Sang et Or had lost back to back games going into the fixture, and their home form wasn’t a conversation starter.

However, they dug deep and found the winning formula in a dramatic 3-2 win in front of the Stade Bollaert-Delelis faithfuls.

They started well, going ahead in the 21st minute from the penalty spot. But Nantes equalized and from a penalty of their own, Simon calmly dispatched to level in the 36th minute.

After the restart, Nantes snatched the lead, Simon for his fourth assist of the season, set up Nicolas Cozza (71′) with a precise finish.

It took a while to confirm the goal after VAR had suggested a review, after consulting, Referee Clement Turpin ruled it legit.

With time running out; there was four minutes of regular time left to play, substitute Hazmat Ojediran leveled for Lens.

But there was still time for one more and on the stroke of normal time, Adrien Thomasson fired home the winner.

The victory snapped RC Lens’ two game losing streak and temporarily to fifth place and within three points of a Champions League spot after 11 matches.

Hazmat Ojediran is a 2024 summer signing from Debrecen who has seen a steady rise in his game after just three seasons at the Hungarian club.

The 20-year-old midfielder cost decent €1.5m, and has been proving he worth every euro it took to get him.

So far, Ojediran has made five appearances for the club, and returned to action last week against Paris Saint-Germain after a brief injury layoff.

The former Flying Eagles star was sidelined for three games with a thigh injury, returned to the squad against Lille but was an unused substitute.

Hazmat Ojediran is proving to be a good asset for Lens, and it is only just his debut season.
