Anderson Esiti joins Greek Champions PAOK Saloniki

As expected, PAOK has confirmed the arrival of Nigeria international midfielder Anderson Esiti in Greece after a four-year contract with the former Genk player.

PAOK released this following statement on their official website:

“PAOK FC announces the signing of Anderson Esiti from KAA Gent. The Nigerian midfielder has signed a contract until 2023 and will wear the number 24 on his shirt.”

The reigning Greek champions paid KAA Gent 3.5 million euros in order to sign Esiti.

Esiti, who plays as a defensive midfielder, will fill the gap for PAOK in that position with the vital UEFA Champions League ties against Ajax fast approaching.

Midfielders Jose Canas and Yevhen Shakhov, key members of the squad which claimed the Greek double, had already left the Dikefalos tou Vorra this summer.

In the 2018/2019 season, Esiti made 30 appearances for Gent across all competitions. The 25-year-old has played for Leixoes and Estoril in the past alongside competing in two matches for the senior Nigerian national team.
