Ancelotti reveals why Iwobi missed Everton’s draw with Crystal Palace

Everton’s boss Carlo Ancelotti has explained why Alex Iwobi was left out of the team that played Crystal Palace on Monday.

Iwobi was not part of the matchday squad as the Toffees surrendered a one-goal lead to settle for a 1-1 draw at Goodison Park.

Iwobi’s omission from the matchday squad came as a surprise as he only featured for Super Eagles of Nigeria’s last Tuesday.

Ancelotti explained after the game that the former Arsenal man had little problems and he did not feature in the game.

“We had a little problem in the past few days with Iwobi and Allan. Not a big deal but they are not able to play.” He said in the post-match conference.

James Rodriguez gave the Toffees the lead, but Mitchy Batsuayi equalized for the visitors with four minutes left to play.

This latest setback means Everton has won just one of their last eight home Premier League home games as their form at Goodison Park continues to hold them back.
