Rivers united and home based Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Anaemena has stated the readiness of the Porthacourt based NPFL side to play ahead of Sunday’s expected kickoff of the Nigeria Professional Football League 2020/2021 season.
Anaemena speaking in a chat with Brila.netrevealed the disturbing air of uncertainty that seems to be hovering around the league kickoff round after disclosing that a number of colleagues in other clubs are yet to leave for their venue of league engagements.
He added however that his side are good to go and can’t wait to get the league underway especially so as to help ensure the team have enough games to sharpen them for continental duties.
“I don’t really know how certain the game will be because some of our players like our colleagues in other clubs that we called said they didn’t travel for any game.
“We are not certain but we were told we will likely play. If the league should kick off on the 27th December then we will play we need to play to keep fit for Bloemfontein Celtics return leg.”
