Nigerian Wrestling Champion Odunayo Adekuoroye is stuffing up her trophy cabinet and to add to her five African Championship gold medals and Commonwealth Golds, the 26 year-old is creating space for the big one – An Olympic Gold medal.
Adekuoroye is one of the biggest names in the sport and has enjoyed a glittering career, but says there’s one more honor missing from her collection.
“The Olympic Gold,” she said in a Global Sports Update interview.
“I’ve been training, praying and working day and night. Doing everything that I should to make sure next year I come wear the Olympic gold around my neck.”
“My Coach and I started work on the areas where I have struggled and also worked to improve my strengths. We trained in Nigeria and recently I trained in the USA.”
The 2018 Commonwealth Freestyle 57 kg champion is one of Nigeria’s medal hopeful in the event at the Summer Games.
