Amusan, Ofili, Okezie Headline AFN’s African Athletics Championships List

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) on Wednesday unveiled a formidable lineup for the upcoming African Athletics Championships, set to commence this weekend in Douala, Cameroon.

Leading the team is world record holder Tobi Amusan, joined by 200m sensation Favour Ofili and long jump bronze medalist Ese Brume.

The roster also includes notable athletes such as Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, Chidi Okezie, Kanyinsola Ajayi, Godson Brume, and Itsekiri Usheoritse.

The final team selection followed intense national trials held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, which concluded on Tuesday.

All selected athletes showcased exceptional performances during the trials.

This year’s championship is a dress rehearsal for Paris 2024 Olympic Games for most of Nigerian athletes.
