Tanzania ended their 2019 African Cup of Nations campaign with a 3-0 defeat to the desert foxes of Algeria on Monday.
The Taifa Stars who staged a return to the tournament for the first time since 1980 failed to pick a point, as they exited the competition with three defeats.
Adam Ounas and Islam Slimani inspired Algeria to a comfortable 3-0 win over Emmanuel Amunike tutored side, as they completed a 100 per cent Group C record in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Leicester forward Slimani, who spent last season on loan at Fenerbahce, put his side ahead after 35th-minute, when he took advantage of some poor defending to latch on to a hopeful long pass from Ounas and rolled the ball past goalkeeper Metacha Mnata.
Ounas quickly scored the second after he played a one-two with Slimani, and the pair linked up again for the third in first-half stoppage time as Ounas accelerated away from the defence, rounded Mnata and finished.
Algeria’s Mohamed Fares went closest in a largely quiet second half with an effort against a post and Baghdad Bounedjah fired just wide.
John Bocco and Adi Yussuf missed late chances for a Tanzania consolation as their side finished bottom of the group without a point.
In the other Group game, Sadio Mane scored twice and missed a penalty to help Senegal to a 3 -0 win over Kenya.
Algeria and Senegal are through to the next round.
