Former Super Eagles legend Emmanuel Amunike has thanked Nigerians for the support he got during his time as the chief coach of the Tanzania National team at the ongoing AFCON in Egypt.
The Taifa Stars finished bottom of Group C without recording any points from their three games. Their first game was a 2-0 loss against Senegal, before suffering a narrow 3-2 loss against Kenya. They then concluded their group stage games with a heavy 3-0 defeat to group leaders Algeria.
‘I was able to reposition their football well, qualified them for Afcon after 39 years, a feat worth memorable for life in their country’s footballing history.” Amunike said.
”I always say, if you believe in what you are doing, work hard and be honest, time will give you the reason to smile. ”
Amunike also thanked Nigerians who stood by him during his reigns…
“Hopefully the super eagles will continue to put smiles on their faces as they look forward to the trophy in Egypt.’ the former Taifas boss concluded.
