Former Tanzanian National team head coach Emmanuel Amunike has expressed his confidence in Super Eagles’ and new Napoli striker Victor Oshimen.
Amunike who was in charge of the Golden Eaglets team that won the world cup in UAE, where Osimhen won the World Cup and golden boot.
In a chat with www.brila.net Amunike noted that Oshimen will be a success in Italy and all he needs to do is work harder. The Super Eagles legend believes that the former Wolfsburg striker can adapt to challenges.
“Well, I think he will be a success,” Amunike said.
“Becoming a success depends on a whole lot of things and factors, and I think he will be a success, but of course, it all depends on his state of mind, it all depends on his capacity and ability to adapt to the new challenges, there won’t be any doubt, moving from Lille to Napoli is a big step ahead, so there will be a whole lot of expectation from people, looking at the money they bought him from Lille, but I think Victor (Osimhen) is a player that is not afraid of challenges. Victor is not a player that is scared of challenges or stepping into the shoe. So, I wish him all the best and I believe he will do it. All we need to do is to support him.” – Emmanuel Amunike.
Osimhen, 21, scored 18 times last season and was one of the revelations of France’s curtailed campaign.
Neither Lille nor Napoli officially gave details of the transfer, but a source from Lille who was familiar with the transfer told AFP that the Ligue 1 team would receive 70 million euros ($82.8 million) with add-ons potentially worth 10 million euros.
