Amuneke joins Sudanese club as Technical Manager

Former Nigeria U20 Coach Emmanuel Amuneke has been appointed as Technical Manager of Sudanese club Al Khartoum Al Watani on a two-year deal ahead of the 2017/18 Premier League season.

Amuneke has been out of the job since 2016 following Nigeria’s failed bid to qualify for the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup.

The 46-year-old was unveiled at an elaborate ceremony by the club on Tuesday.

A former African player of the year, Amuneke won the Africa Cup of Nations with in 1994 and also enjoyed a successful career with Egyptian club Zamalek SC winning two league titles and the CAF Champions League in his three seasons at the club.

Al Khartoum SC are one of the oldest sides in the Sudanese league, created in 1950 but, they have not won a major silverware.
