Nigerian midfielder Akinkunmi Amoo is delighted to be named man of the match after another explosive performance for Hammarby in Swedish Allsvenskan on Thursday.
The former Golden Eaglets’ star netted a screamer to help his side to a 3-0 win over IFK Goteborg.
The midfielder who also assisted another goal in the game has now scored six goals for this season.
The Nigerian was substituted to a sounding ovation- twelve minutes before the end of 90 minutes; as Hammarby claimed their 9th win of the campaign, to move up 33 points, just 5 points behind 3rd place Malmo in the race for European places.
Reacting to his man of the match performance, Amoo said:
“Man of the Match award, I’m honored. This is precious to me, I’m dedicating this to the team coaching staff, my teammates, management, and the entire family of the Club. ” He wrote on Twitter.
Amoo was deservedly named the man of the match and has now taken his goals involvement to 9 in the league (6 goals, 3 assists), having just started 13 of the 19 games he has featured in.
