Super Eagles defender, Leon Balogun, has declared his readiness to give his all if called up for Nigeria’s crucial World Cup qualifiers in March.
The Super Eagles find themselves in a tough spot, sitting fifth in their group with just three points from four matches.
With the qualifiers resuming in a few months, the team will aim to turn their fortunes around under the guidance of new manager Eric Chelle.
In an exclusive interview with Brila.net, Balogun, who last featured for Nigeria in 2022, expressed his unwavering commitment to the national team.
“If I’m involved in some type of way, you know you’re going to get 110% from me always, and I’ll try to push that onto the rest,” Balogun stated.
“Whether I’m playing from the bench, I don’t care. For me, my personal target when it comes to Nigeria is to get back in the squad as soon as possible to be of help.”
The 36-year-old defender has been a key figure for Rangers this season, featuring in 19 matches across all competitions. His experience and leadership could prove vital for the Super Eagles as they seek to revive their World Cup hopes.
The countdown to March has begun, and Nigeria will be banking on players like Balogun to lead by example on and off the pitch.
