Yusuf Alhassan and his Royale Antwerp teammates started their Belgian Jupiler league title defense with a narrow win over Cercle Brugge.

Antwerp, winners of both the Belgian league and Cup last season, started the new campaign with a 1-0 success over their opponents at the Bosuilstadion.

Alhassan was on from start to finish for the Mark Van Bommel’s team and was impressive through out.​

The Midfielder had an outstanding performance; he provided effective cover for the defense and attempted two shots on goal from his defensive midfield position.

He was impressive that he received a rating of 9/10 at the end of the game.

This season, Yusuf Alhassan is expected to continue in a key role for Mark van Bommel’s team in their bid to retain league title and cup.

Alhassan played 27 league matches for the Reds on their way record double winning campaign last season
