Ibrahim Alhassan has officially joined Portuguese club Boavista, marking their first signing of the summer transfer window.
The former Akwa United star has signed a two-year contract with Boavista following his departure from Belgian side Beerschot.
The 27-year-old midfielder was unveiled by Boavista on Thursday, just four days after his contract with Beerschot expired.

“I am very happy. Signing for Boavista was an easy decision, firstly because I know how great the club is and also because I have already played in Portugal, which I consider to be my second home,” Alhassan said on the club’s website.
“I am very excited about this challenge and I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and start this adventure.”
During his tenure at Beerschot, Alhassan played a crucial role in helping the team secure promotion to the Belgian top-flight and clinch the second division title last season.
