Algerian player Shabel hails teammates and rates Falcons high

Algeria women national team player Iman Shabel has has hailed her colleagues for putting up a stern challenge against Nigeria following the team’s 1-0 defeat to the Super Falcons on Tuesday at the Agege stadium.

Shabel speaking in a chat with brila.net said she is proud of what the Algerian ladies showed in the game to have caused Nigeria a lot of problems despite having lost at home to the Falcons 2-0.
She revealed that the plan was to show they can play against Nigeria and that they also intended to just play and enjoy their game whole hoping to shock Nigeria but met an equally good Nigeria who still managed to win 1-0 despite the impressive showing from her side.
“The first leg we lost 2-0 but we were unable to show how much football we can play. So when we came here, we said that we were going to show them we know how to play football and what Algeria is made of and not to be afraid of the Nigerian players and just fight in the field.
We were able to contain them for about 90 minutes. I think Nigeria is really a good team with strong players and obviously they are the best team in Africa.”
