The Algerian women’s national team has announced the 22 players for their friendly matches against Nigeria’s Super Falcons.
The double header friendlies, set for October 26, and October 29, 2024, will be held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, in Lagos.
The Super Falcons, under the guidance of interim head coach Justin Madugu, have named a 25-player squad including captain Rasheedat Ajibade and goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie.
Madugu’s squad also features players from across Europe, Asia, and the Nigerian league, including Turkey-based defender Oluwatosin Demehin, Spain-based forward Gift Monday, and several home-based professionals.
This is the first time the Super Falcons will play international friendly matches on home soil in three years.
Prior to that, they last hosted friendlies in 2014 against Cameroon’s Indomitable Lionesses.
The upcoming matches will regroup the Super Falcons since their participation in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in France earlier this summer.
Following the exit of former American coach Randy Waldrum, Madugu is looking to use these games to assess his squad for future competitions.
