Alex Iwobi put in a great shift as Everton defeated Brentford in Saturday’s English Premier League game at Goodison Park and ended their 12-game unbeaten streak.

The Nigerian was outstanding as the Toffees recorded a shock win against the in form Brentford.

Everton should have been out of sight but Michael Keane headed wide with the goal post gaping after beating David Raya to the ball.

Moments later, Amadou Onana hit his ball over, from eight yards, with the goal at his mercy.

Iwobi was lively in the game and almost got in the score sheet, but saw a goal bound effort saved by Brentford goalkeeper Raya, who denied his close-range effort.

The former Arsenal player was on for Eighty-nine minutes before being substituted by the Manager, Sean Dyche.

A first minute striker from Dwight McNeil was enough to earn Everton the all-important three points that ensured they move out of the relegation water.

After 26 games this season Everton have 22 points, and opened a two-point gap from the relegation zone.
