Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi has expressed determination for a win as Nigeria prepares to face off against Ghana in an international friendly match.

The highly anticipated clash, set to take place at the Grande Stade de Marrakech this Friday, marks the first meeting between the two rivals since their intense encounter during the 2022 FIFA World Cup playoffs, which saw Ghana emerge victorious.

Iwobi emphasized the significance of securing a positive outcome against Otto Addo’s side.

“It’s a game against one of our rivals, a nation that is close to us, so we will give our hundred percent and try to get a good result,” he stated in an interview with the Team’s Media Channel.

Reflecting on Nigeria’s performance at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Iwobi admitted it felt like a disappointment to lose in the final.

However, he expressed the team’s eagerness to build on their AFCON showing.

“After the competition, we had to go back to our clubs because it was in the middle of the season. We didn’t have much time to reflect on the final defeat to Cote d’Ivoire,” he remarked.
