Al Ahly forward Junior Ajayi has been handed a debut invitation to the Super Eagles squad ahead of the upcoming friendlies against Poland and Serbia later.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face fellow Russia 2018 World Cup team Poland in Warsaw on Monday, March 23 before facing another World Cup-bound side Serbia four days later at the Hive Stadium in England.
His invitation was confirmed by a top Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) source which said via CSN that:
“Junior’s invitation to the Super Eagles will be a great addition, he has been doing well with his team and let’s see if he can translate that to the senior national team.”
Junior Ajayi has been in sensational for his Egyptian side and has weighed in with 8 goals and 9 assists in 23 games as his team edge closer to a 40th league title.
Ajayi has won the Egyptian Premier League title, Egyptian Cup, and Super Cup since joining Al Ahly. He also led the team to a silver medal in the 2016/17 CAF Champions League.
