Akwa United Star arrives London, Awaits Poland Conquering Super Eagles

Striker Gabriel Okechukwu has confirmed his arrival in London ahead of Nigeria’s friendly match against Serbia according to reports.

Okechukwu missed the team’s Wroclaw camp and friendly against Poland because of visa hitches, but the 22-year-old has arrived the site of the Super Eagles camp as per SCORENigeria.

According to the players, “I am already in London, I arrived on British Airways by 6.45 am yesterday.

“I have been at the hotel gym to keep fit before the arrival of the team.

“I am so excited to be among one of the best young teams preparing for the World Cup, it is a good feeling, and I am now waiting on the whole squad.”

However, it wasn’t just the Akwa United forward who missed the Poland match. Junior Ajayi, Daniel Akpeyi and Super Eagles captain, Mikel Obi were also held up.

Mikel may not be available for the second friendly as Mikel Agu has been handed an invite for the Serbia game. Ajayi and Akpeyi were also delayed by visa hitches.

Meanwhile, the Super Eagles departed Poland on Saturday and are due to touch down in London where they’ll prepare for Tuesday’s friendly against The Eagles of Serbia.

Midfielder, John Ogu also confirmed the team’s departure en route London.
