Ahead of the Akwa United’s league clash with Enyimba on Wednesday, right-back Etim Matthew is confident they can hurt the hosts at home.
Akwa United have failed to win any of their past nine trips to Enyimba, losing six and drawing three.
The sides have also met 20 times in the league with Enyimba claiming nine wins to the Promise Keeper’s six, while five of those meetings ended in stalemates.
Speaking with the club’s media department, Etim who won the league title with Enugu Rangers in 2016, says the quality of players can help make the difference this time around.
“We have a vibrant technical crew and some of the best players in this league. Sometimes, we challenge ourselves as players to be more consistent and ready to give one hundred percent in every match we play.
“I know that our match with Enyimba will be an interesting one and I’m optimistic that we will have a positive result in Aba on Wednesday.
