Middlesbrough forward Chuba Akpom has formerly been nominated for EFL championship player of the year award.
The nominees for the end of season top honors were announced on Tuesday, and Akpom is one of four players in race for the award.
Akpom, joins Coventry’s Viktor Gyokeres and Burnley’s Josh Brownhill in the running for the EFL Player of the Season prize, having fired his way to the top of the Championship’s scoring charts with 26 goals to his name so far this campaign.
Apart from Akpom, Middlesbrough also had two nominees in other categories.
Hayden Hackney in running for EFL Young Player of the Season, along with Bristol City’s Alex Scott and Sunderland’s Amad Diallo.
Michael Carrik is also up for the manager of the season award, alongside Burnley’s Vincent Kompany and Coventry City’s Mark Robins.
Winners will be announced at the 2023 EFL Awards evening on Sunday 23 April, which also includes the announcements of EFL Teams of the Season and Goal of the Season.
