Ajax forward, Chuba Akpom ended his domestic league goal drought in style, scoring and providing an assist in his team’s 5-0 victory over Fortuna Sittard on Wednesday night.
Akpom, who had failed to find the net in his first two league appearances despite scoring three times in the Europa League, played a key role in the dominant win.
He set up Bertrand Traore’s 24th-minute goal, which doubled Ajax’s lead.
With just three minutes left in the match, Akpom found the back of the net himself, capping off the resounding victory and registering his fourth goal of the season across all competitions.
The win lifts Ajax to seventh place in the Eredivisie, with six points from their campaign so far.
