Akpoguma targets winning debut with Nigeria

Super Eagles defender, Kevin Akpoguma says he’s excited to be with Super Eagles and he’s confident the team will do well against and Tunisia.

Akpoguma represented and captained Germany at the youth level, but has been cleared by FIFA to feature for the three-time African champions at the full international level.

After completing all his documents, Akpoguma is currently in Super Eagles camp in Austria and he’s already loving the experience.

“I’m very happy to be here with the Nigeria Football Federation, it’s a great experience to be with the guys. We are all happy and preparing for the game.

“We looking forward to winning the friendly games we have now against Algeria and Tunisia, which serves as preparations for our qualifiers.”

The 25-year-old Hoffenheim versatile defender said he’s also happy to reconnect with his root after several years away from home.

“I’m excited to see the country again, I last visited when I was six, that’s a long time, but I’m happy to be back,” he told Super Eagles media channels.
