Kevin Akpoguma was in good form for TSG Hoffenheim as he helped them to a 5-1 home win against Holstein Kiel, in the German DFB-Pokal match on Tuesday.
Akpoguma’s Hoffenheim was desperate to return to winning ways, after losing 4-0 to Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena over the weekend.
Recalled Akpoguma was involved in the heavy defeat to Bayern Munich, but he was substituted after picking up an injury.
However, the Nigerian international recovered in time to take part in the cup game and he provided an assist for one of the goals.
Akpoguma set Angelo Stiller on the 57th minute to make it 3-0 for Hoffenheim, after two own goals from the opponents.
The former German U20 Captain who now has three assists this season also got a yellow card in the game.
Munas Dabbur and J. B. Larsen scored the other goals as Hoffenheim advanced to the round of 16 of the competition.
