Alaba Akintola has secured a spot in the semi-finals of the men’s 200 meters at the African Championships.

Competing in the sixth heat, Akintola clinched victory with ease, clocking in at 20.94 seconds (-0.1).

The Nigerian sprinter outpaced Cameroon’s Claude Itoungue, who finished second with a time of 21.51 seconds.

Akintola, the sole Nigerian competitor in the 200 meters, will now set his sights on qualifying for the final.
