D’Tigress forward Evelyne Akhator has stated that the Nigeria women national basketball team will qualify from the Pre Olympic qualifiers in Africa to make the world qualifiers to the games proper as the African phase gets underway today in Mozambique.
Akhator speaking in a chat with brila.net said the team will do what needs to be done on the court when they face Congo DR first later today and host Mozambique on Saturday to seal qualification to the main Olympic qualifying tournament.
“We’re just there and to do what we have to do to qualify for the next round in February. It’s not going to be an easy tournament for us, Mozambique and Congo, we’ve played them before. They are very good teams but we will try and come out victorious.”
