Norway-based Nigeria defender Akeem Latifu has told brila.net’s Mohammed Saliu he hopes to get another chance with the Super Eagles.
Latifu was part of the Nigerian national under-20 football team at the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Canada and played four games in the tournament.
“Football is something you never say never, you know with a lot of ups and downs so, I am open to whatever challenges that would come my way,” Latifu told brila.net.
The former Akwa United player also recalled how his last call up into the Super Eagles camp came unexpectedly.
“When I got a call up from late Stephen Keshi, I wasn’t putting my mind in it, was just doing my thing at my club side, I was training hard and giving it my best at the club level and I got the call-up,’
“I believe the same thing can happen but can’t put a time to it, for now, let’s see how things unfold after the COVID-19. “he concluded.
Latifu was called up to Nigeria national football team on 16 March 2015 by the late big boss, Stephen Keshi.
