Nigerian forward Rasheedat Ajibade is celebrating Atletico Madrid Feminine’s qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Atletico Madrid Feminine secured third place in the league with 61 points, trailing behind Barcelona and Real Madrid.

This finish guarantees the team a spot in Europe’s premier competition next season.

Reflecting on the achievement, Ajibade said, “the 2023/2024 season comes to a close and what a season it’s been.

“We stand here today, humbled and grateful, to celebrate our incredible achievement of qualifying for the Champions League.”

She continued, “First and foremost, all the glory to God. Through His strength and guidance, we persevered through every challenge. To our amazing fans, your unwavering support has been our fuel.”

Ajibade played a pivotal role in the team’s success, contributing 10 goals and 4 assists.

 

Her outstanding performance earned her the title of the club’s player of the season.
