Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi played an important role in West Bromich Albion’s 1-0 away victory against Middlesbrough in Saturday’s English Championship game.
Ajayi stared in the team’s victory at the Riverside Stadium and helped them to keep a clean sheet away from home.
The Baggies produced a disciplined performance to snatch all three points as they continued their impressive form.
There was no goal in the first half of the game, but the introduction of Welsh striker Hal Robson-Kanu in the second half changed the dimension of the encounter.
The striker netted the only goal of the game in the 82nd and it was enough to send the Slaven Bilic’s men to the top of the log.
The victory helped West Brom strengthen their position at the top of the Championship table with 25 points from 12 games.
Ajayi has now made 12 appearances for West Bromich Albion this season and will be hoping to continue his impressive form when they take on Barnsley in their next league game on October 22.
