Kanyinsola Ajayi capped off a successful season by winning his first-ever national title at the Nigeria Olympics trials held at the Samuel Ogbemudia stadium in Benin City.
Ajayi dominated the men’s 100m final, outpacing rivals Alaba Akintola and Usheoritse Itsekiri.
Ajayi crossed the finish line with a time of 10.14 seconds, narrowly ahead of Akintola, who clocked 10.16 seconds, and Itsekiri, who finished third with a time of 10.22 seconds.
With this victory, Ajayi has set his sights on securing a top-three finish at the upcoming Olympics.
