Ajax player Abdelhak Nouri suffers permanent brain damage

Dutch club, Ajax have announced that Abdelhak Nouri suffered ‘severe and permanent brain damage’, with no chance of recovery after he collapsed during a friendly match with Werder Bremen on Saturday.

Nouri was kept in hospital over the following days, in a deep coma, but doctors have finally ruled the 20-year-old will be permanently incapacitated.

The test results on Thursday have sadly revealed the extent of Nouri’s brain damage, which according to a club statement is said to be “serious and permanent”.
