Share Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Pinterest Email Nigeria’s heavyweight boxer, Efe Ajagba has been crowned the new WBC International Heavyweight Champion. Ajagba claimed the title following his victory against Zhan Kossobutskiy by disqualification on Saturday. Kossobutskiy, who had maintained an undefeated record, was disqualified in the fourth round, just 33 seconds into the round. The Nigerian repeatedly hurt Kossobutskiy with right hook and body shots in an entertaining round two. However, Kossobutskiy later landed two consecutive left uppercuts well below the border, which forced the 2016 Olympian to drop to his knees in pain. Ajagba (18-1, 13KOs) has now recorded his third consecutive win after an October 2021 loss to Frank Sanchez in Las Vegas.
