Kano state Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has gifted the All Kano Pillars players and their officials the sum of One Thousand Dollar ($1,000) each, as part of an appreciation gesture towards them for winning a trophy that has eluded them for over sixty years.
Speaking with the club officials in their visit to the Government house, governor Ganduje assured them of his support and commitment towards the development of the club and other sports related activities in the state, also promising that the $1,000 to each player and staff is just one of the many gestures they will receive with the grand gesture slated to be disclosed during the upcoming Award Dinner Night few days to come.
He encouraged them to remain patriotic, committed and disciplined towards the affairs of the club and explained the significant development football has attained in Kano state via their Aiteo cup win.
“We are proud with our youth. We are proud of you Kano Pillars; this victory means a lot to us. When the final reached inconclusive stage, I knew we were going to win the trophy. We finally made it and I wasn’t very surprised because we have a composition of highly skillful and talented players,” he said.
The chairman of Kano Pillars, Shu’aibu Yahaya expressed his gratitude to the governor for his tireless support towards sports development and youth empowerment in the state. He also pledged that the discipline and commitment witnessed in his players will remain so and worked upon.
