D’Tigress player Aisha Mohammed Balarabe has revealed that the Nigerian girls got all sort of intimidation from the host fans in the build up to and during the final game of the just concluded women Afrobasket in Senegal.
Mohammed speaking in a chat with brila.net on arrival said the final had more to it than what people saw during the game. She revered that beyond the noise witnessed which is typical of any host were all sorts of scary things thrown at them before the game, and also stuffs in their locker room.
She thanked Nigerians and the supporters on ground who cheered the team through the tournament while also thanking God for given the D’Tigress the day.
“Back to back we won, we did it again, firstly I am going to give thanks to the Almighty God for giving us this championship and secondly our supporters and families who put is in their prayers who supported us all the way.
We played out best against a side who also came out strongly and the fans were so much and intimidated us with all sort of things thrown at us and they even broke eggs in our locker room. Buy we give thanks to God who gave us the day and we conquered them.”
