It was a sad day for Super Eagles full-back Ola Aina as his Club Torino suffered a 4-2 away defeat in the hand of Cagliari on Saturday.
Aina who started the game was making his 23rd appearance of the season for the Walter Mazzari’s side and he was unable to stop his team from going down.
Aina however lasted for 74th, before he was substituted for an attacker as they search for unlikely goals.
Nahitan Nandez put Cagliari in the 12rh minutes, before the son of Athletico Madrid coach, Giovanni Simeon added the second five minutes later.
Captain Radja Nainggolan made it 3 – 0 immediately after the restart, but a quick response from Torino saw them reduced the deficit with two goals from Gleison Bremer and Andrea Belotti in the 60th and 66th minutes respectively.
However, Torino’s hope of salvaging a draw was killed when Joao Pedro converted a penalty two minutes after Torino’s second goal.
However, the defeat to Cagliari leaves Torino in 14th position on 31 points and are six points away from the relegation spot.
