Super Eagles defender Ola Aina was involved as Torino beat Lecce 1-0 in Monday’s Serie A clash at the Stadio Grande Turin.
The player started from the bench and was introduced in the clash, with eight minutes left on the clock.
Aina replaced Austrian wing back Valentino Lozaro as coach Ivan Juric decided to add a fresh leg in the defense to help protect their narrow lead.
Aina’s introduction proved to be the right decision, with the former Chelsea defender recovering two balls, and intercepted one key pass.
He helped Torino win the game 1-0, meaning they have now kept five clean sheets in eight home games against Lecce in the Serie A.
Torino have now ended a run of seven winless games in the last eight against Lecce, and have now secured their second of the last ten home league matches against any opponent.
Nikola Vlasic netted the only goal of the game, five minutes before half time.
