Ahead of 2020 Police Games, Lagos CP Odumosu explains role of Sport in fostering National Unity

LAGOS State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu has disclosed that the 12th edition of the biennial Police Games scheduled for Anambra State is meant to enhance Unity amongst Nigerians.

Speaking when he, Lagos CP Hakeem Odumosu led his team to the Sports Radio 88.9 Brila FM Headquaters on Tuesday, he stated that Sports is one activity that makes the World go round, especially football.

 

“Sports makes the World go round, most especially football – You see whenever people watch football, they forget everything about religion, tribe or colours, the CP said.

 

He described sports as a very important in maintaining a healthy body, while also maintaining that the games will serve as another avenue to unite and connect with the people, as such, fostering Unity.

 

Meanwhile, CSP Oyinye Onwuamaegbu also hinted that the 2020 police games will not be all about men, but the women wing of the Nigerian police force will be fully involved.

 

The Police Games, which will see athletes compete in 20 sports, will hold from February 29 to March 7, 2020 in Awka, Anambra State.
