Victor Moses and his Chelsea Manager, Maurizio Sarri were denied their first silverware of the season on Sunday, as Man City eased to a 2-0 win in the 2018-19 Community Shield at Wembley Stadium.
Sergio Aguero struck a brace either half of the match to deny Sarri a first silverware in his career and Moses an addition to the trophy cabinet at Chelsea.
It was Sarri’s first competitive game in-charge of Chelsea and he’d be disappointed his team did not, really, rise to the occasion as some senior players looked out of sort.
Moses came on as a second half substitute, but could hardly impact the game by himself as City dominated every significant stat on the board.
The new English Premier League season for Chelsea kicks off, proper, against Huddersfield on August 11 at The John Smith’s Stadium.
